As a mission-based church, strengthening and supporting the community within our church is a foundation for serving the wider community. What does that look like? Below are a few examples.
Joy Dollars
Every Sunday, as members of the congregation tell events and experiences that have brought us joy, we deposit a few dollars into the Joy Jar carried by one of the children. Every few weeks Pastor Abby announces how many Joy Dollars have been collected and asks the children to decide how much to donate to certain causes. Some are in our neighborhood, some are far away. Some are featured below.

Free Wheelchair Mission
This organization provides wheelchairs to children and adults in developing countries. Since 2001, Free Wheelchair Mission has distributed more than 1.4 million wheelchairs to people with disabilities in 95 countries, providing renewed dignity, independence and hope through the gift of mobility, all at no cost to the recipient. Some 75 million people still need a wheelchair but haven't been able to get one on their own.

Future for Farato
A neighbor on Stratford Street started Future for Farato, a non-profit organization
to support education, health, and community development in a village in West Africa:
Farato, The Gambia. We appreciate our neighbor's commitment to Farato, and we are pleased to support this effort.

Guns to Gardens
In 2023, in partnership with St. John Chrysostom Catholic Church in West Roxbury, we started raising funds to offer gift cards in exchange for guns brought by anyone who wanted to surrender them. Each gun was cut up, on the spot, and sent to be reshaped into garden tools. Donations to this campaign can be made by clicking on the Donate button below.
