A Covenantal Relationship

The word Covenant is mentioned at least 98 times in the Bible, and it was of great significance to God's plan for us, God's people, to understand. Leviticus 6: 42 says it well: "then I will remember my covenant with Jacob, and I will remember my covenant with Isaac and my covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land." RSV

Our Church Covenant

We, the members of Stratford Street United Church, in worship, establish our covenant with God, who is revealed to us in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, and Whose presence is made clear to us by the Holy Spirit.

We seek hereby to live in the love of God, proclaimed by Jesus and His disciples, and to make our lives loyal to His Word, and His Will recorded in the scriptures. We also seek to forgive the sins and weaknesses of all, asking that they would forgive the same in ourselves.

We further seek to build up the Church of Jesus Christ, to strive for its unity in Him, and to extend the ministry of Christ in our community and throughout our nation and world.

May the warmth of God's light, given unto us, remind us of our Covenantal relationship with Him!
